Our Story

Burger Express has been a staple of the Carteret community since 1978 with its original location first opening its doors near the old exit 12, New Jersey Turnpike entrance. Looking to modernize and promote a more inviting restaurant, Burger Express built a new establishment closer to the waterfront and business district in 2008.

The premise of Burger Express’s food is fresh, fast, food made daily. The menu consists of breakfast sandwiches, burgers, fried chicken, fun side orders and customer favorites like the chicken sandwiches and cheese fries. Additionally, the menu has wraps, salads and veggie alternatives for those looking to eat on the lighter side. 

Burger Express not only serves food, BE promotes family, friendship and community both inside and outside the restaurant. BE proudly supports and sponsors numerous charities, teams & events throughout the year and are always honored to be involved! 

Some of the community involvement includes:  Carteret Conquers Cancer, CEA Scholarship Fund, CEA Golf Outing, Carteret High School Senior Awards Night (Scholarship), NJ Special Olympics, Carteret Specials, Carteret High School Football Team Sponsor, Carteret High School Drama Club Sponsor, Carteret Police Department Sponsor, Carteret Fire Department Sponsor, Autism New Jersey Sponsor, Gateway School Sponsor, Carteret Public Schools Sponsor (various activities in the Middle and Elementary Schools), Community Outreach in Woodbridge, UCHOF Golf Outing
